Q: How do I unlock phone when approved if I no longer have original sim?

I have an old 3g that a family member has been able to use with a prepaid account but when she wanted to change she was told phone had to be unlocked.  We no longer have original SIM chip. and even though approved for unlock we cannot complete.  What now?

You should not have to use the original sim but any other valid sim should work.

If you have received notification from the carrier that the unlock has been set up, what happens when you restore the phone as new in iTunes with any available SIM in it?  You should simple see the message at the end of the process congratulating you for successfully unlocking your phone.  If you do not see that, then post back with what does happen in iTunes when you try a restore.
