Q: i need to edit and filter a digital voice file, what software should I use?

I have some digital voice recorder files that have a lot of background noise and low volume can they be enhanced and filtered with itunes or garage band?

Rick—start with Audacity® which you can teach what noise to strip from the vocals. You need a short section that is noise only for this to work.

E no luck there, I'd use Celemony Melodyne Editor® which may or may not be obsolete now that X has a similar feature.  I haven't played with X enough to know if it has same power in this regard. Audacity is free and can use AUs if they help you.

    Good luck!
