Feb 11, 2014 7:40 PM in response to nursingaide32by rbrylawski,Your inability to delete music on your iPad indicates they were synced to your iPad from iTunes on your computer? If that is the case, that is how you remove them from your iPad. Connect your iPad to your computer and uncheck the music you want off your device in iTunes, click apply and they'll be gone.

Feb 12, 2014 5:59 PM in response to lizdance40by KMP4,Hi, I am having the same problem. Particularly with one song that just won't delete from my iPad. All of the songs on my iPad have the cloud icon next to them and I have re-downloaded them and then deleted them with a swipe; however, a number of them continue to return. I noted tonight that two songs returned but I had not even synced with my computer. Since I am completely frustrated with this would you be so kind as to tell me the exact settings I should have an iTunes when I sync in order that all of the music is deleted from my iPad.
Thank you so much for any help.

Feb 12, 2014 6:01 PM in response to KMP4by KMP4,I should add that the one annoying song that won't go away is the "now playing' song. Not sure if this factors into the problem.

Apr 7, 2014 3:29 PM in response to nursingaide32by vlad_djkax,I do not use iTunes Match, but I had both "show all" (music and video) buttons enabled under Settings> iTunes and App Store.
Even after disabling them, I had three musics that could not be erased, even by swiping to the left. And no, there wasn't a cloud icon next to them.
To solve that, I had to end the iTunes session in the same Settings> iTunes and App Store option. After reopening the Music App, I could see one of the songs "vanish", since it sas one of the firsts (the artist's name began with an A). One of the 3 "stubborn" musics was still there, but the swipe finally showed me the "delete" red button.
Signing up to itunes again did not bring the problem back. I think I'll report this on the feedback session.

Dec 9, 2014 7:29 AM in response to vlad_djkaxby xxlegion,I'm having the same problem I have a long long long audio book on the ipad and I will be darned if I can get rid of it. This has shaken my whole confidence in the Apple product. I've had the ipod for over a year so I'm experiencedd with synching but there is no way to get this darn thing OFF. I have even tried to empty the ipod of every single song and starting over but there is always something left. Including that last song from **** for U2, something I don't even want or did I ask for it.
I did go to the 'auto site' to remove it but that didn't work either. Apple is just about the most controlling company I have ever dealt with and I'm getting pretty fed up with it. Makes me want to go back to another manufacturers mp3 player.
Can anybody suggest something? I've got to the point where I should go to the Apple Store here in Ottawa for help. This is ridiculous.

Jan 2, 2015 8:46 PM in response to vlad_djkaxby bitslasher,I had the issue of songs being undeletable (swiping left would not produce a delete button).
vlad_djkax's suggestion of signing out of your apple store session and then signing back in solved the issue for me (iOS 8.1). So in summary:
1. Open settings app
2. Scroll down to "iTunes & App Store" and select it
3. On right at top you'll see your Apple ID, in blue font. Tap on it.
4. A pop-up window will appear. Select "sign out"
5. Now switch back to your Music app. Any songs that weren't downloaded before will now be gone. The rest should all be deletable by swiping left on it.
6. If you still cannot get the delete button to appear try forcing the music app to close completely by double-clicking your home button and swiping up on the music app, and reopen it.
7. Finally when you've got everything deleted you can sign back into iTunes in the settings app.
hope this helps someone!
