Feb 11, 2014 7:35 PM in response to KyleappleIDby Jay-Ray,If you set it up as new and it's prompting you to enter an Apple ID and Password to proceed with no "Skip" option, then it may be Activation Locked. This areticle covers this: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH13695 If its not the activation lock, you should be able to just restore the iPhone using recovery mode: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 If it is the Activation Lock, you or your friend will have to figure out the password or reset it on appleid.apple.com or find the receipt to prove your own the iPhone then call Apple.
