Mouse inoperative

My mouse talks to the computer, I can see battery level and if it's connected or not. The mouse just doesn't seem to work anymore. Solid green light on the bottom. Is my mouse toast? This is the second mouse for this machine, they seem to last about 1.5 years. Good thing I saved the USB mouse from my 1999 iMac...

I also just found that the mouse will click on and highlight and open things, it just won't move or scroll. So I guess mouse number 2 is now junk too...
