I need a help
I bought a windows 8.1 pro DVD from Microsoft. I installed it on my later MacBook Pro 2013, it didn't work. Boot Camp said that windows support software not detected.

Windows 8.1 is not supported. No drivers. And, did you buy the full or upgrade version? If you bought the upgrade version you need to install it on a computer already running Windows.
@BobTheFisherman
I bought a full the full version. Can you tell how to install windows for my mac. I need it for my class.
Read the Windows 8.1 specs on the Microsoft site. You require a previous version of Windows.
If you are installing Windows 8 without a previous version of Windows you need the System Builder version available from third party resellers such as EggHead, Amazon, etc.
By the way, Windows 8.1 is not yet supported by Boot Camp. No drivers.
When you get the proper version of Windows follow the installation instructions available as a menu item in Boot Camp Assistant. Or, read the installation instructions.
Can I install older version then upgrade it to win 8.1 ?
See my post above. Windows 8.1 is not yet supported.
I mean can I install windows 7 or 8 on Mac ?
Look on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5634 for your computer model/year. The table shows you which Windows versions are supported on your computer.
Thanks you
