Having problems using iCloud to manage my email accounts with roadrunner and gmail.
iCloud has no relation to any other email service: it handles only its own @icloud.com (and possibly @me.com and @mac.com) emails.
I'm having a problem deleting emails on multiple devices. I'm having to delete the same email three times. On my iPhone my Mac and my iPad. Any help would be appreciated.
iCloud mail and some other services are IMAP - with this the messages live on the server and are read from there by your devices (like webmail) so deleting on one also deletes them on the others.
However many other services still use the older POP method. Here the messages are downloaded from the server to the device, either deleting from the server in the process or not, depending on the settings. If you have a service which is POP and retains the messages on the server then each device downloads the messages separately and deleting on one doesn't affect the others. There is no way round this other than changing to an IMAP service.
Will iCloud work with my roadrunner email?
