Grey bar at bottom ipad

I have a grey bar at the bottom of my ipad 3 how do I remove it please

That is the dock and can not be removed. It is used to hold the apps you use most.

Hold an app icon until they wiggle, then you can rearrange the app icons including the ones in the dock. Dragging apps on top of each other will create folders. These folders will be named based on the apps you combine but you can rename them whatever you like by tapping the folder name. You can also move apps between pages by dragging them to the edge of the screen and holding it there until the page turns. All new pages are created to the right side. When you are finished tap the Home button
