why cant i download the latest version of itunes

Do you get an error message when you try to download the new version? If so, what does it say? (Precise text, please.)

Help... I am trying to download the latest version of iTunes from the Apple website, but immediately after i click the "Download" icon it goes to a new screen that says Thank for Downloading the latest version. Unfortunately nothing has downloaded. I was able to download version 10.7 but it won't run on my windos 7 computer.

Thanks for the input, but this really doesn't solve my problem. I had a newer version of iTunes installed previoully that would not open. I uninstalled everything Apple as suggested by many. Tried to install the latest version of iTunes, but the problem above keeps ocurring. I was able to instal version 10.7, but it won't open due to the issue below.

Any suggestions would be helpful...
