I was having a lot of problems with TM using the Time Capsule wirelessly so I purchased an external HD that is FireWired and now use that for backups.

The only problem seems to be when I've used another external HD (which is also FireWired). In that case, I get the message "Time Machine could not complete the backup. Unable to complete backup. An error occurred while creating the backup folder."

This happens regardless if the secondary HD is on or off. If I've used it at all without rebooting, I get the message.

I don't use the secondary HD too often since it's for older archives that have been dragged + dropped onto it. However, I use it often enough to make this issue a headache.

Anyone know why this is happening and what the fix might be?
