Will an ipad air with cellular purchased in the USA work in the UK?
If I buy an iPad air with cellular whilst on vacation in the USA will I be able to use a UK cellular provider when back in the UK?

Yes the iPads are unlocked with respect to international (non US sim cards) so you are not tied to a contract and free to use whatever carrier you choose internationally. And with the warranty you can go to any uk apple store, all they will need is your serial number.
This is tagged as answer but it's confusing me.
From experience, Apple will honour warranty regardless where you purchased the item. As long it has warranty life and the purchase was legit and registered.
Why would u say iPad with US cellular would not be covered abroad? Is it because the cellular provider initially selected during the purchase?
I'm seeing contradicting answers in this thread and you did not bother to explain your answer so I feel confused at the moment.
Another important question, you said it will never connect to 4G and LTE... Why do you make such claim? I have checked the LTE range from iPad specs section and LTE wiki page for UK..it seams that the US iPad does cover the LTE range of the UK. Not sure about other connection types though.
So please do explain your answer.
Yes, it is unlocked but as I said it may not ever connect to 4G LTE.
The WiFi+4G iPad does NOT have an international warranty. They would have to return to the USA for service.
Probably but you most likely will not ever be able to use 4G LTE.
You will also have to return to the USA for any warranty service.
as long as they buy it from apple it is covered in all apple stores in the world...My friedn had his ipad covered in switzerland and he bought it from canada (cellular) as long as its a apple store.
That is true for the WiFi only model no matter where it is purchased, that is not Tru for iPhones and no longer true for the iPad WiFi+4G.
Thanks for your help. Hope it doesn't need a service, it would be a shame to have to travel all the way back to the US to have a repair.....not!
