I have Windows 8.1 running on a new Dell Inspiron 14R. After purchasing the computer, I downloaded and installed iTunes version 11.3.1.2. I was able to import my music and playlists into iTunes successfully. However, I am unable to burn playlists to CDs through iTunes. I repeatedly get the "unknown error 4310" as soon after I press "Burn Playlist to CD." iTunes recognizes that the CD is blank when I insert it, but then cancels the burn immediately after it starts.

I have tried all the troubleshooting suggestions above, especially including:

  • Verifying that the CD burner works -- I successfully burned an Audio CD using Windows Media Player. So, the burner works just fine!
  • Changing the burn speed to a lower speed
  • Uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it.
  • Updating the drivers on my computer

This is very frustrating! Please help!
