I'm trying to access different glyphs that I have in various font families i.e. Zaphino. In the older version of Pages I can get to the fonts and click on the gear and get the drop down, select typography and then ornaments and the various glyphs show up and change the character. On the new Pages 5.1 this does not work? any ideas?

In Pages v5.1, enter your zapfino text. Select the text for the new glyph, and press command+T to launch the Font panel. Click the gear selector on this font panel, then choose the familiar Typography menu item. A panel will display as follows, providing access to the various glyphs.
Nope that does not work! this is what I keep getting
however in iWorks 09 I get all the glyphs following the same directions. Any other ideas?
Does not work in that you do not get the glyphs that you want, or that you cannot get the above pop-up panel as shown?
Providing that you still have Pages ’09 v4.3 still installed in /Applications/iWork as a side-effect of the Pages v5.1 installation, I would not lose too much productivity on Pages v5, and would encourage you to return to the older version where the most features and functionality remain.
Hello. Thanks for your reply ...... I agree just need to use the much better older pages version. Just seems like something as simple as fonts should be available in the newer version. So I do get that pop up panel. But when I click on one of the glyphs it immediately changes the pop up window to what I showed above. It just maddening !!

No image that you posted has displayed, so I have lost some visual context from you. Are you using the camera icon in the editor toolbar to upload the image?
I think it's a known bug that advanced typography is botched in pages 5 for now.
