Remote Disk not reading disk

I've had a MacBook Air for about a year and I bought a remote disk drive at the same time. I don't use it very often so I've only used it about 3 times so there's really no reason for it to have stopped working. The remote disk shows the remote disk in the finder even when it's not plugged in but it won't read the disk I have in it. Now my dvd is stuck in it.

Hey KatieBabe2011,

Thanks for the question. Are you referring to the Apple USB SuperDrive? If so, this is different than “Remote Disk” that you see in the Finder sidebar.
