My iPad air charger plug is different to my iPhone 5s plug, but cable is the same. Can I use one for both devices, or should I keep them separate?

You can use the iPad Air charger for the iPhone and iPad Air.

Using the iPhone Charger on an iPad will work... But it will charge Very Slowly.
