Can I use my iTunes gift card balance to pay for a Match subscription?

I have a credit of $27+ from redeeming gift cards in the iTunes store. I want to subscribe to Match, hoping I can use my store credit. When I go to the Match payment screen, I click the option to redeem instead of using the credit card on file. I get prompted for my gift card numbers, which I no longer have since I have a store balance and figured I didn't need them any more... I am logged into my account, so my balance is a known quantity to the rest of the store.

So, can the gift card balance (already redeemed cards..) be used to purchase an iTunes Match subscription?
