ITunes Back Up

I have Itunes on my computer. I also have an IPod with all my music on it. Where I have all my music on my Ipod is that concidered back up or should I put my music on a external hard drive?

Yes.

Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive...

For a backup you want a second copy of the library on a different drive. See Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy for a way to keep the backup and the original in sync.
