Why can't I access my 4,600 some ICloud songs from my MacBook?

I recently purchased an Apple MacBook, 10.7.5. I updated the itunes application to the newest version. Then I signed in and made sure that this new device was authorized on my account. Then I proceeded to connect to the cloud to download songs that I uploaded as well as purchased. The only ones I can gain access to are the purchased songs. That leaves me with over 4,000 uploaded/matched songs that I cannot access. My itunes freezes up when connecting to the cloud so I cannot even see all my music. SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME!

FYI, iCloud and iTunes Match are not the same services. They are separate and distinct and one does not require the other.


Also, iTunes Match is not the most efficient way to transfer your music to a new computer. See the following Apple KB articles:
