podcast to iPod using itunes 11 - help

I need to put a podcast to my iPod classic using iTunes 11, the podcast is in my music category how do I move it to podcast? I tried to right clicked then get info then option tab then media kind, I chose podcast and it was on the podcast on the computer but not on my iPod, what shall I do next? how will it be on my iPod?
