Formatting an iPhone

Hi.

I have an iPhone 4 with the latest iOS.

The iPhone is 2 years in use and lately start to slowly response.

I've backup the iPhone to my iMac using iTunes.

If I'll restore to factory setting ( or ? ) and restore from imac's backup , will my iPhone returns to the same prefrences ? Or I'll need to do extra configuration to make it as "new" ?

Thanks.

iPhone 4, iOS 7.0.3

restoring as new puts iPhone to factory settings but with latest clean installation of iOS

You can then use the back up to get tour setting s back

If there is not the improvement you are looking for then Restore as new and rebuild

Some Apps will come back like there was no interruption. Other apps may not. Some Apps (like one particular game that I play) require that you 'bind' your account to an email address, and then verify the email address. Otherwise, even after restoring from an iCloud or iTunes backup, the app will 'start fresh', and you will lose all of your progress. Check any important third-party apps first before proceeding.
