Q: I can not find all the music i uploaded onto iTunes from my old CD collection. where can i find these songs.  I hope they just didn't disappear.

I can not find all of my music in our family library.  Some songs i uploaded from my old cd collection are there.  some songs are on my phone but not appearing on the library.  please help.  I hope i did not loose the content

    You've checked the file location specified in the HT1391 page that you posted from - are the songs in that directory, bit not listed in your actual iTunes library ? If they are then you can add them to your iTunes library via File > Add To Library. If they aren't (you've tried searching your Mac's hard drive to see if they are somewhere else on it ?) then do you have them on the backup of your library that you should be keeping and maintaining ?

     

    If you can't find them on your Mac, and you don't have have a backup so the only place that you have them is on your phone, then you should be able to copy iTunes purchases back via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. For music from other sources (e.g. copied from CDs) you will need a third-party program on your Mac to copy them back from your phone, iTunes won't do it - there are some listed half-way down this page : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
