I have created a SDS Kiosk

to allow employee's access to the material safety data sheets, but it has one fatal flaw. When you try to access the SDS as a PDF in Mobile Safari, the pdf will not scroll or print correctly. It works in Puffin, but you cannot lock Puffin to a single website. Why does mobile Safari not work properly?

There are lots of web broswers around for the iPad. Your looking for parental control.

rccharles,

Thanks for the info, but I have found several kiosk programs which lock down the internet and ipad so that you limit access to particular programs or websites, etc. I am also a member of the developer center for iOS, mac and Safari desktop.

The problem I am having is within the iframes of mobile Safari, and it not being able to scroll properly. This is a known bug or defect that has been reported numerous times, and if you do a internet search you can see all sorts of people complaining and looking for workarounds to the issue.

What I was hoping to get from here is alternate ways of doing what I want to do. Either by making Puffin respond to a whitelist of allowable websites, or a way to make mobile safari use adobe to read the webpages. If I use Opera Mini, and click on the PDF file it open up in mobile safari and I am able to scroll through the documents. If I use just mobile safari, they open but will not scroll.

I do thank you for the response, but your solutions have already been tried.
