Feb 14, 2014 12:09 PM in response to Malcolm J. Rayfieldby UhUhLeUh,Thanks for the quick response Malcolm!
Yes, that is my option number 3... I see actually four possible solutions:
1) use a mini-displayport female to hdmi male adapter
2) A DVI KVM. Nice but expensive
3) Switch DVI cables every time I switch laptops. Cumbersome, as the DVI conector in the monitor's back is nicely hidden. Also, unplugging and plugging DVI conectors frequently ain't a good idea...
4) Using VGA for dell laptop (graphics suck)
I want to make sure 1 is out before considering any other.
Thanks

You would still need a switch.

Feb 14, 2014 12:48 PM in response to Malcolm J. Rayfieldby UhUhLeUh,I just thought there is another solution: DVI to HDMI cable + HDMI female to Thunderbolt male... both of those exist and are inexpensive. I hope I don't lose quality doing so many signal conversions...

Feb 14, 2014 2:01 PM in response to UhUhLeUhby Malcolm J. Rayfield,DVI and HDMI use the same digital video signals, so there is no loss of image quality. You will do the switching at HDMI instead of DVI.
