I would like to convert iTunes music files to MP3 and the instructions start with "open iTunes Preferences", but don't tell you where the Preferences are. I need more words because I can't find the Preferences.
Windows XP
Turn on the menu bar with CTRL+M, then go to Edit > Preferences...

"Preferences ..." is in the Edit Menu. But if you're using an iTunes 11.x version, you may need to bring up the Menu bar first to see the Edit menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Alternatively, you might just get in there via the "Preferences ..." option in the menu off the wee boxy icon.

So... How do you get to iTunes Preferences? I opened up iTunes and I just can't find it.
