Nokia E63 and Mac Pro

Hello,

I have a macbook pro.

OS x 10.9.1

I also have an old nokia E63 (about 5 years old).

I am not that tech-savvy!

I can sometimes get my bluetooth to recognise it and can download images and some videos. I cannot, however, download some sound recordings I have made.

I also don't seem to have isync on my mac and cannot download it for whatever reason. I have downloaded the plug in Nokia_E63_isync_plugin_2 V1.pkg, but when I got to install it, it comes up with "the phone plug-in can't be instlaled on this disk. You can only install this software on the disk that is running OS X". I do have OS X?!

Question 1: how can I get my sound recordings from my phone to my mac?!

Question 2 (etc): should I already have the isync? If not, how do I get it? When I do a search on the app store, it shows SyncMate plus for $20.99 Surely there is something else? I

Question 3: My simplest question is how do I get all my info from my E63 to my mac so I can change my phone to an iphone?!

Thanks in advance for any help for this tech-neanderthal...

There should be a USB connecter that runs from your E63 to your Mac, if you don't have one get on Nokia's Web site and see if that will work and if they don't have one I am sure you can get one from almost any store that sells computers, ie: Apple Store, MicroCenter, or any number of local retailers, Even Walmart may have one. Next be sure you check Nokia's Web site and see if they offer any Software for the E63 for your Mac. iSync in the menu Bar and see if Apple offers anything. If not have a look here.

Thanks Don,

Appreciate your response.

I didn't mention that I have used a USB also and can do the images and videos through that. But not contacts, calendar, sound recordings or anything else.

When I plug in the USB it gives me the options of

1. mass storage

2. pc suite (which is how I used to sync my stuff when I had a pc)

3. media transfer (never used)

4. connect pc to web (also never used)

Should I be able to use the PC suite to sync? When I select it, it doesn't show up on my mac at all.

Also the link you have suggested takes me to CCTV and Macs which I don't think is useful?!

Thanks in advance Don!
