Q: Why does Safari crash when I try to open a second tab?

Ever since I upgraded to IOS 7, Safari crashes every time I try to open a new tab (by using the + sign in the top right corner). How can I correct this?

iPad 2, iOS 7.0.4

I would recommend force closing all open apps and restarting the device.
