What kind of games can I play on my iMac?

I have late 2012 iMac (2.7GHz, 8 RAMs, 1 TB, 64 bit, core i5, etc). I am not knowledgable with computers, so I have no idea whether my computer's spec can be sufficient for the game's system requirements.

So can I play newest games? Will there be any lags or poor graphics? Here is the list of games I am hoping to try:

Tomb Raider (2013)

Unreal Tournament 3

Far Cry 3

Outlast

Serious Sam 3

Sims 3

Is my iMac good enough for these games?

Also, does gaming harm the computer in any way?

Thanks in advance.

iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

Yes.

Nope. That's what they're built for. You can build a PC with better performance if you want to spend $1500 on a video card alone, but your iMac should be fine.

You can play plenty of games on Mac OS. The Steam Library has plenty of games and the Mac App store has plenty more. Your computer is also able to use boot camp to partition Windows on your computer, and your graphics capability is definitely doable for games even as in-depth as Skyrim on Hi settings. I have a Windows Partition on mine which I use to play Star Wars: The Old Republic and Skyrim. Both I can do medium settings and mine is a Late 2009 iMac.

Wow. I guess I underestimated my iMac. I haven't bought a new game in 10 years (last games I bought were Doom 3, Sims 2 and Unreal Tournament 2004 ten years ago...), and I am very excited to play games again!

How about games like Skyrim, Crisis, Call of Duty? Can my computer handle these games' requirements? I heard these games demand intense graphics processing.
