Q: I am trying to transfer photos from my iPad air to my iPhone 4S, but my iPhone 4S is not getting listed I the airdrop menu of the iPad even after making the Bluetooth on. I even tried the same with another iPhone, but there also my 4s is not being listed.

I am trying to transfer photos from my iPad air to my iPhone 4S, but my iPhone 4S is not getting listed In the airdrop menu of the iPad even after making the Bluetooth on. I even tried the same with another iPhone, but there also my 4s is not being listed. In the Bluetooth menu under settings the devices are being searched continuously.

Airdrop requires an iPhone 5 or above. You would not have it for the iPhone 4S. See this support document. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5887

Thank you Chris..but I should be able to transfer photos using Bluetooth? Why 4s is not being discovered by other devices like iPhone 5s and iPad air (in my case) and vice versa?

You cannot transfer photos via Bluetooth. The iPhone has never supported this type of file transfer. You will need to either use the Photostream in iCloud or connect the device to the computer, then import the photos, and then sync them to the iPad.
