when i try to update my apps on my iPad ,it gives me an email address which is different from my log in

When I try to update the apps on my iPad ios 7.0.4 the email address it offers to sign in with is an outdated email address and therefore rejects it, I can sign into Apple with no problem with my present email and password, and it applies only to updating the apps. thanks 😕

What id shows at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app on your iPad ? If it's the wrong account then tap on it and log out of it and then log back in with the current version of your acocunt.

But the id that shows for updates should be the id that 'owns' the app - is the email address that is showing a completely different account or just a previous version of your existing account ?
