FCP 7 won't open anymore.

Two days ago FCP7 wouldn't load from clicking on the most recent project but I was able to start it up from applications and then load the project from there. Today nothing will load, FCP just hangs up (spinning cirlce) after the effects loading is completed. I have to force quit it.

So far I've done: Repaired permissions

Deleted FCP preferences

Upgraded firmware for my Dobro

Shut down and unplugged everything.

I can't think of anything different I've done in the past couple days that I haven't done for years. I do use some MP3s in my projects but have been doing so also for years. A couple days ago the Drobo stoped being ejectable but this was solved by upgrading the firmware.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Just because you've worked with mp3's without issue for years, doesn't mean you should work with them. They are not suitable for editing with in fcp. PLAIN and SIMPLE.

How did you delete your fcp preferences? The foolproof way is to use digital rebellion's preference manager.

And here's a user tip with some troubleshooting tips.

Go thru them systematically and post back if you still are having problems.
