Will Apple TV plug into mac and function
I'm just wondering will Apple TV plug directly into the mac and work together?

no the only purpos of connecting the appletv with usb to the mac is to restore the failed firmware of the appletv
the appletv works by having internet access and by accessing the shared itune of a computer lib across the network and by being used for airplay
