if i uninstall and reinstall will i lose my playlists?

You will not lose the playlists after uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes. They are stored in the iTunes library, which is in your My Music folder, and your library is not modified when you uninstall the application. However, before uninstalling, I recommend you to make a backup of your iTunes library.
