iOS to Android. Now I can't group message.

Hi, so I upgraded from an iPhone4 to a Note 3 and now I can't recieve group messages. At first I couldn't recieve texts at all; but then I got on my old iPhone turned off iMessage and reset my apple account password. Now I can recieve personal messages but not group messages. What's even more strange is that when my firends send me a personal text it still sends as an iMessage (blue bubble). It should be sending as a normal text (green bubble) right? I honetly don't have a clue as to what I can do from here and it ***** because group messaging is one of the main things I do on my phone. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Oh, and my carrier is AT&T if that makes a difference.

iPhone 4, iOS 6.1.3

Android is not an Apple product.

The note 3 is not an Apple device.

This is a troubleshooting forum for Apple hardware and software.

It's an apple problem not an Android Problem. Basically there is nothing you can do. You have to tell each person you know with your iphone to erase your contact info or reset there phone then plug your info back in. This only works half of the time. The thing is the iphone is made to remember whether a number is imessage or not. once it's tagged imeassage it always tries to send it there. It's really bad with groups because you can't track the indavidual text. Only real work around is to change your number. THANKS APPLE!

It's actually an issue that the iPhone users have to troubleshoot. I switched from iPhone 4S to a Note 3 and had the same problem with group messaging. The final solution turned out to be more simple than I thought. The iPhone users had to go to SETTINGS and turn on SEND AS SMS. Also, GROUP MESSAGING and MMS MESSAGING need to be turned on. This solved the problem. No more issues group messaging with iPhone users.

*Not sure if this makes a difference but your contact should probably be updated in everyone's address books. If you've been saved under IPHONE, they should change it to MOBILE.

Alekat113 - that does work but then it means that the iPhone user is never sending an iMessage, even when they are texting someone else with an Apple device. It's rediculous. I switched to Android and now I can't see group texts from one person with an iPhone, but I can from the other. They both reset my info on their phone and it only worked for one of them. Big FAIL on Apple's part here.

Jim both imessage and sms should be turned on. The iPhone will naturally attempt to send all messages via imessage FIRST. If the device isn't recognized as an Apple product, it will be sent as SMS. I've actually watched the message attempt to send blue then after a few moments, it turns green. There's 1 person with an iPhone5 that still has issues sending messages to my Android. I've done months of troubleshooting, to no avail. Not one professional person has offered any real solution. Not Apple. Not Android. Not At&t. The only idea I can come up with is for everyone to get an Android. Lol. This way no one will have issues text messaging me. Problem solved!!!

I think I figured it out... at least for me.. My mom recently switched from the iphone 4s to an android and me and my 4 sisters all have iphones still. She asked us to delete her contact info and so we did, but still nothing worked. So I went into my settings and turned off imessage. and it worked!! She gets my texts in group message mode. My understanding of imessage is that all it does is saves your plan texts by sending the texts using wifi or data and not using you texts from your plan.. but since I have unlimited texts through verizon, it doesn't matter for me.. sorry if any oft hat is confusing. i'm trying to type fast. anyways, this is working for me now, hopefully this helps someone.
