The newly released Maya 8.5 is now universal binary. Word is they run pretty fast on Intel Macs 😉

I too am interested in knowing more about this. Right now I have Maya 6.5 on a PowerBook G4 laptop. I definitely need to buy a faster computer and I am interested in the new Mac Pros that just came out. Would I even be able to run my current version on the new Mac? How different will the performance be? Something about emulation? I'm not too familiar with technical terms and software/hardware specifications. I just basically want to know that if I were to buy a new Mac, would I be able to run Maya on it. Also can't you run Windows on the new macs now? Would I be able to run a Windows version of Maya on the new macs? The last thing I want to do is go out and buy a PC computer. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone.

I'm running OS 10.4.8 using Maya 7 still after having given version 8 a try. I had to roll back though because of the bugs and unstability.

I was just wondering if they fixed the UV issues in Maya 8.5 that Maya 7 has, where your uv's don't show up in the UV Texture Editor. If anyone has messed with UVs in 8.5 I'd be interested to hear what they have to say about it!

Thanks a bunch.
