i lost internet

I do not remember how to connect to internet. Icon is lost, but I am connected. thnx.

If just AirPort's antenna icon (main menubar in desktop, airport symbol) is lost or missing, you could go into System Preferences> Network> (checkbox) Show AirPort status in menu bar.


If the items list of connection methods do not have your first choice on the top of the list, you could drag them into position. If using AirPort primarily, that would be on top with a green dot by connected items and red dots by those not in use.


You can set up a new Location for other places you use the internet and choose between Location rather than set up the details in one window and then have to change them all again when you get home. Also a second location (you choose details, such as they are) could be used for troubleshooting; so could a second user account. This is another issue should it arise.
