How to lengthen a staccato note in GarageBand

Hey guys, I'm in the middle of covering a song as my first GarageBand composition, but I'd like to know if there's a way that I can lengthen a staccato'd note. The piece alternates from a string of staccato notes to an occasional legato, but I can't find any instruments that sound best to mask it on another track. Specifically, I'm dealing with Xtra Violin Section 1 Staccato; Xtra Violin Section 1 Legato does not sound very coherent with the former instrument selection. Is there a way I can lengthen a note, or write it in (I tried the latter to no success)?
