I have airport extreme set up at home, but wireless signal is weak in back rooms, can I use airport express to improve connection

I have Airport Extreme 802.11g set up as my wifi base station at home, but wireless connection is weak or not available in rooms further away from base station and I am wondering if I can add an Airport Express base station to improve connection? Thanks.
