Desk size/viewing distance iMac 27

Hello there,

I'm interested in purchasing an iMac. Since the iMac 27 comes with GPU upgrade options, and the 21 inch option doesn't (unless I'm wrong), I'm forced to go with the 27 inch iMac as that is something I require.

The only issue is, I live in a complex based flat and I have one of those U shaped coming out the wall type desks. It is roughly 24 inches (60 cm) in depth in a forward plane. I could probably get an additional couple of inches by placing my PC diagonally.

My question is: If I placed the iMac flush with the wall, would it be far enough for me to view the screen without moving my head every few seconds like a pigeon on caffeine?

Thank you!

iMac

Take a piece of cardboard or similar and place it where the iMac would be (don't forget the stand - putting the back of that against a wall, the front of the screen would be at least 6 - 9 inches from the wall). Then sit down where you would normally sit and check how much you can see without moving your head a lot.

FWIW, there is no such thing as "average personel preference" - everyone has their own preferences, thank goodness.
