Can I get sound from mini port to hdmi. On 2011 Mac book pro 13"

The minidisplay port for 2011 should carry sound. If it doesn't, I'd suspect the cable you're using.

select audio source under system prefs/sound

i got it to work on a mid 2010 MBP

dont see why it wouldnt work on a 2011
