Q: I need to set up a replacement iphone 5 that I've got from icloud but the replacement iOS is too old, how can I update the iOS and restore from icloud without losing anything from icloud?

Thanks george, if I set up the replacement phone and start as new, will I be able to use that to download the new iOS and then reset it so I can restore from icloud? Or will the reset also reset the iOS?

Thanks guys, in the end I set up the replacement phone as a new device, downloaded the most recent iOS and then reset the whole phone, in order to initialise the start up procedure again. As the reset doesn't wipe the new iOS I was then able to set up the replacement by restoring from iCloud.
