iPad2 iOS 4.3.3 intermittently stops music and sound playback in iTune, movies, and game apps

WHy does The music and sound playback suddenly stop working in iTunes, playing mp4 files, and sound / music on older game apps like Flick Bowling? After playing around and checking sound and music settings and completely exiting all apps and shutting iPad2 down and starting it back, music and sound playback resumes except for the music.and sound for "Flicker Bowling" game app (no longer available for download in Apple App Stire)? Please help. Will try first to update iOS tomorrow and see if that helps. I also have tried cleaning memory, drive space and deleting cache if in case it would help but the same problem continues shortly after I do a cleaning and restart.
