Gray line on screen when pinch to zoom on Safari. iPad Air

Hello, when I use Safari on my iPad Air and do the pinch to zoom is often a gray horizontal line in the middle of the screen. I went to the Apple Store in Bologna (Italy) and I have replaced it with a reconditioned. The problem has now resubmitted. Browsing on Safari is really bad and this gray bar appears very often. The problem comes with the Chrome browser. I do not know anymore what to do

Hey, i noticed the same in my ipad 4 th gen. On the the ipad mini of my girlfriend it does not appear. It behaves likea scrollingbar indicator though. When you scroll left and right it moves with the page like indicating how much of the site is left to scroll. I find it also very anoying.

Thank you for having responded to me. Unfortunately, I see that the problem occurs also with other devices and with older firmware but nobody could solve the problem permanently. It's a shame that Apple did not want to fix it, now is a long time that this defect rendering exits already. I doubt that ios 7.1 will solve the problem.

Unfortunately, after updating my iPad Air via iTunes to the new firmware 7.1 problem is not solved. To try and help I proceeded to make a video where you can see the steps to create the bug. It occurs on any web page that has a field of writing. Entering any word and then doing the pinch to zoom you create the gray line. Here's the video. Please Apple! We need a fix! Thanks

Today I was at an Apple store. I tried to split the iPad keyboard in various exhibits. Following the procedure of the video I have reproduced the bug on iPad Air, iPad 2, iPad Mini and iPad Mini retina. All have the same bug.

Good day,

There's actually a way to remove the grey bar but that requires the disabling of the keyboard split feature.

The steps:

1) Go to 'Settings > General > Keyboard'

2) now turn off the 'split keyboard' feature

If you still notice the grey line you may need to restart your web browser by closing and turning it back on again:

1) Turn off web browser, i.e., place 4 fingers on the screen and swipe them upwards, locate the browser tab and swipe the browser upwards with a finger.

2) Turn browser back on.

Hello, thank you for responding. I tried to follow your steps but unfortunately after a few seconds the gray line is back. Unfortunately I found that when I close the browser the gray line disappears until I write on a field of writing. The gray line recurs after writing something. Thanks

Having the exact sameissue with my IPAD AIR...

Notice it only in SAFARI

@Apple support...any solution?

Just noticed it today for first time after having the iPad Air for a month. I cleared cache n cookies and it disappeared. Not sure when and if it will return. From what I'm reading, it will be baaaack!!!!!

With iOS 8, the problem has been resolved. The gray line is gone. Thanks Apple! 🙂

I will eliminate the video posted on YouTube.
