Feb 16, 2014 6:04 AM in response to PSB109by Meg St._Clair,★HelpfulThe only messages that will sync are iMessages.
Sign out of iMessages on both devices. Sign back in on your iPhone. Wait for the activation to finish. Then, using the same Apple ID, sign back in on your iPad.

Feb 16, 2014 7:17 AM in response to face247by PSB109,New messages ...they are not appearing on iPad. I am getting new messages on my iPhone but still not showing up on iPad...

Feb 16, 2014 7:30 AM in response to PSB109by face247,Hmmm, ok and you verified that your phone number is checked to be recieved at both devices, can you try to send yourself a message from the ipad to your phone number and verify that your phone recieves it. Also it should show up on your ipad. If that doesn't work, try sending it to what ever apple ID you are signed in with to see if it shows up on the ipad or not.

Feb 16, 2014 1:10 PM in response to face247by PSB109,Ok. I tried sending a text message from my iPad to iPhone (cell number) and that worked. However, it only shows 'delivered' under the test message; I did not rec'v that same test message on my iPad.
Then I tried sending another text message to my Apple ID (which is my gmail email address) and I got that text message on my iPad but it wasn't delivered to my iPhone.
I'm wondering do I need to have both the phone number and email address checked under '> You can be reached by iMessage at:' ? Currently, only my phone number is checked on both devices.

May 26, 2014 9:51 PM in response to PSB109by casehendricks,I'm having the exact same problem. How did you end up fixing it?
-
May 26, 2014 10:56 PM in response to casehendricksby helifreak,Yup, same problem here as well. Has worked fine for the last 3 years then updated mini retina and 4s and now no more synced messages.... Very frustrating indeed!
Does anybody know how to fix this???.?

May 29, 2014 7:39 PM in response to helifreakby Dancer1003,Just got a new iPad Air and am having the same problem. I always received the same messages on both my iPhone 5 and iPads 2 and 3 (one personal, one work) without reconfiguring/doing anything to the settings. We got new iPad Air devices at work yesterday, but I'm not receiving messages on mine. Hoping someone can figure it out.

May 29, 2014 8:23 PM in response to Dancer1003by helifreak,I opened both devices and went -Settings-Messages-Send and receive-2 addresses and then made sure everything was the same. It turns out they weren't the same for some reason after the updates....all's good now. Good luck.

Jul 19, 2015 9:39 PM in response to helifreakby Bri8402,Thank you so much! This worked for me! It was very frustrating not to get my calls/text messages to my ipad. I had recently upgraded to the 6plus and was going crazy that they were not syncing.
