Feb 16, 2014 6:31 AM in response to kazkatby Meg St._Clair,In order to transfer the pictures from an SD card, they need to have 8-character file names and be in a directory titled "DCIM". Is that the case on your SD card?

Feb 16, 2014 7:02 AM in response to Meg St._Clairby kazkat ,Thank you but I am not to technically gifted! An ordinary SD card inserted into the Apple iPad camera kit works no problem so I thought all I had to do was insert the micro SD card into the adapter, insert the adapter into the iPad camera kit connection kit, connect that to my iPad and hey presto NOTHING! Why do I always have these issues with apple products. Seriously thinking about moving family away from apple to Samsung. If anybody out there has a solution, please let me know. I have googled looking for an answer and looks like I am one of hundreds really frustrated with apple. To repeat the ordinary SD card works but not the micro.
Meg where do you find this 8 character file name in a directory titled DCIM. Cheers and thanks again for responding.

Feb 16, 2014 7:17 AM in response to kazkatby Meg St._Clair,Where did the SD card come from? If it came out of a camera, it should follow the conventions I mentioned. If it didn't, how did the pictures get to the card?
Put the card in a card reader that you can connect to your computer. Examine the contents. How are the picture files named? What is the name of the folder they are in?

Feb 16, 2014 8:00 AM in response to Meg St._Clairby kazkat ,Hi Meg, the SD mini card was bought from a reputable camera shop, all I did was insert into the slot on my camera (like I would do with a standard sd card), switched camera on, took pictures which automatically save to the sd mini card! All I thought I had to do was insert the mini card into adapter, connect that to the apple adapter and away I would go. I also have an Apple Mac Pro lap top, I try this later this evening and see what happens. But I have never had any problems at all with standard sd cards, never had to configure anything or look at files hence I am a bit at a loss as I spent a considerable amount of money on my camera and the only place I can view the pictures is on the camera screen which is not much good. I'll let you know how I get in later with lap top. Thanks Meg.

Feb 16, 2014 8:03 AM in response to kazkatby Meg St._Clair,Ok, so it did come from a camera. Then things are probably stored in the correct way.
Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears? Then try using the CCK again.

Feb 16, 2014 8:27 AM in response to kazkatby Texas Mac Man,Do you have a smaller capacity micro SD card to try? I seem to remember from past posts that users were having problems with cards larger than 32GB, however, Apple's page doesn't mention this.

What format are the pics - jpg or raw?

Feb 16, 2014 12:33 PM in response to Texas Mac Manby kazkat ,Hi Folks, I only have a 64gb micro sd card, on normal sd card all my pics appear to be jpg. I also tried connecting the iPad connection kit with the micro card in adapter to my Mac Pro book and absolutely nothing. The apple instruction with the connection kit quite clearly states 'the SD card reader is compatible with secure digital (standard SD and sdhc) memory cards, mini and micro sd are supported when used with an adapter to fit the slot (adapter not included). MMC cards are also supported'. No mention at all of any memory restrictions! Why have Apple not sorted this? They must be aware of the problems people are having!
