I just bought tv shows from itunes and they won't sync to my iPad and I have them selected to sync

I just bought tv shows from iTunes and I'm trying to sync them to my iPad and its not working. I have selected them so that I can sync them but not working it always worked in the past. Also I just update the iTunes software this past week, not sure if that makes a difference.
