I am trying to delete an account from my iphone 4s in settings because it is interfering with my using icloud, etc. My phone keeps asking me to sign in to this account but it is not a valid account and does not have an active password. It is an old email

I cannot delete this account because I do not have a password and it is not a valid account anymore. How can I remove this account from my iphone 4s ?

Just because it is an 'old' email doesn't mean it's not a valid Apple ID account.

Is the email that is showing one of your old email accounts? If so, did you ever edit your Apple ID and change the primary email of your Apple ID to a new email, or did you simple create a totally new Apple ID?

You can get your appleID password reset at iforgot.apple.com, Then you can remove it from the iphone.
