Q: I seem to have joined the ranks of others who are not able to restore their touch screen iPod, (code 9)
At first, months ago, I was just not able to restore my touch screen iPod [When charged up, the screen shows a usb cord with an arrow pointing to the circular iTunes icon.], then I got quite disgusted and just set it aside for months.
I tried to do restore sporadically over the months unsuccessfuly, always geting the code 9.
My iPod is set up to access itunes via a usb cord into my PC, with windows 7. I have another iPod touch screen that works just fine using the usb cord for accessing iTunes, via my PC. [my 2 other iPads are configured to bypass the literal pc and keep updated via wifi.
Then my itunes software on my pc went inoperable, and would not uninstall/re-install. I set the whole thing aside in disgust for quite some time.
Yesterday, I downloaded troubleshooting software patches from Microsoft which I let run all night on the pc.
This morning I noticed, I was finally rid of the pesky iTunes program. So, I successfully re-installed a fresh downloaded itunes on my PC.
Now, I am back to where I started several months ago, with an operable itunes not being able to restore my iPod (code 9).
I tried disabling my firewall and antivirus program thinking they might be interfering, but, still have the same original (code 9) from months ago.
Any sugessions will be appreciated. My other ipod which also 'usb's into the itunes on my pc works just fine and will access ok.
As far as resorting to being upset over this current months long frustration, no I am not... I am chalking it up to being "a learnning experience".
Sincerely
Glenn M. Krewson
