Downloading Podcasts from the Cloud

Although my purchased podcasts appear (greyed out) in my Podcast Library, when I try to download them from iCloud onto my iPhone 5S (running iOS 7), nothing happens. The download wheel does not change (although it says it is downloading) and over an hour later, nothing has happened. Can anyone please help?
