I have macbook pro early 2011, and for some reason it's download speed through wi-fi is limited to exactly 361kbps and it never goes higher than that. Why?

So i tried reconnecting, disconnecting everything from wi-fi and connecting just the mac, turning off the router, creating another user. I cannot plug in the cable because i accidentally broke the cable port a couple of years ago. The internet speed never goes higher than 361kbps. Exactly that number. On every other device in my house the internet works perfectly fine (20mbps). Am i the only one who has this problem? Is there a way to fix it?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

Sounds like a hardware problem, if this is your universal experience on all WIFI connections (ie at Starbucks for example.)

You can use the diagnostics in the Airport Utility.app if you are running a Apple router.

You can run a Apple Hardware Test using Recovery: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5781
