CAREFULLY follow the instruction at Adware Removal Guide : Genieo.
I too had Genieo on my mac and tried the uninstall to no avail.
I found this article http://www.thesafemac.com/arg-genieo/ giving step by step instructions.
**The author says NOT to follow the uninstall provided by Genieo!
I followed all the steps, (make sure you do 5 and 6 too) and Genieo no longer shows up when I search in Safari.
I can't find a trace of it anywhere on my computer.
Hope this helps!
This is the iPod touch forum, not a Mac computer program. iOS devices like the iPod touch can't get that problem

I realize that, but the only way to have Genieo appear on an iPod is if it has been installed on the users' Mac or PC. The solution to getting rid of it is to totally remove it from the Mac or PC.
See Genieo Web.

It's been four weeks since the OP ask about this, and my guess is that he has already solved his problem.
Reference? There is no known flash cookie associated with Genieo, so please tell us everything you know about this.
Also, deleting Flash Cookies is not an easy task, so I doubt the OP has any idea of how that's done.
Hello, Francisco,
Maybe you will find useful this free tool: http://www.bitdefender.com/solutions/adware-removal-tool.html.
This version currently detects and removes Genieo for Mac. It quickly scans a user’s system for adware and its elements and, if detected asks for permission to remove it. It then removes all traces of the software and resets browser settings that were changed by the adware, eliminating unwanted ads and modified default search results.

I'm pretty sure Francisco has taken care of this after three months.

Maybe, but I my understanding is that it leaves at least one file behind. And even though it's called an adware-removal-tool, it only removes Genieo, whereas thomas_r.'s Adware Removal Tool removes at least half a dozen other adware infections.
